Nelson McCoy Pottery Co. Lidded Stein – Bavarian Summer Festival, Roll Out Fun

Up for auction is a McCoy Lidded Stein from the BavarianSummer Festival in Barnesville, Pennsylvania. It says “Roll Out the Fun”. On the underside edge of the lid it says ©NELSON McCOY POTTERY CO. and in raised letters on the bottom is U S A. This attractive stein measures around 8 ½ inches tall with the lid, 6 inches without, 3 inches in diameter at the top, 3-5/8 inches at the bottom, holds 14 fluid ounces when very full and weighs 1 pound 10-5/8 ounces. The lid appears to be dipped or electroplated over a cast metal (magnet doesn’t stick) and the inside has blistering. The hinge looks plated (magnet sticks) and there’s rust on the rivets. I see some darks spots / specks in the glaze, and the lid doesn’t quite line up. Also there is an indentation on the bottom that must be intentional. Overall it is very nice! According to my research, the Bavarian Summer Festival at Lakewood Park, Barnesville PA was held yearly from1969 to 1984. Nelson McCoy Sr. established the Nelson McCoy Sanitary and Stoneware Company in 1910 in Roseville, Ohio. The name was changed to the Nelson McCoy Pottery Company in 1933. Thanks for looking!
