    Description

An antique Japanese sewing box called Haribako made of Toneriko (Japanese Ash) in front, Kurinoki (Chestnut) case, and Kirinoki (Paulownia) woods.  Hinges top opens to reveal a square container with a finger hole where a pin cushion was once kept, a cover with finger hole where spools of thread were held and a pop-out wood stem that inserts to stand in place where a third hand clip held in place pieces of fabric to darn.  Three spacious drawers in front where jewelry or smalls can now be kept.  Vertical slot on the right side top originally held a fabric ruler.  The condition is very good for its 100+ years of age.  Circa 1910-1920 Meiji/Taisho Eras.
It measures 11.5" Wide by 9" High by 6.75" Deep.
